Carbon Fiber and G10

250mm Western gyuto in 52100 with kurouchi/polish finish with carbon fiber handle and saya.
Steak knives in AEB-L with carbon fiber handles and sayas.
210mm gyuto in 52100 with kurouchi/polish finish with G10 handle and saya.

The steel is 1095 high carbon and the handle consists of black lacewood, copper, G10, and redwood burl.
The blade is differentially hardened.
The saya is cocobolo with a wenge liner to match the handle.
The keeper pin is anodized titanium.

The hamon is begining to show after grinding.
After hand finishing and an acid bath the hamon is really starting to pop.
The bolster is almost completely shaped but needs fine tuning with a little hand carving.
The basic shape of the handle is cut-out.
The taper is in and the sides are rounded.
The handle is finished and a quick buff is done.
All done!
Sujihiki Up-cycle
CommentThis suji was sold and the new custom sent it in to be shortened, a change in the blade profile and to get a saya. I'll be putting some pics up for reference.

CommentI'll have some nakiris in the store soon. They will be in AEB-L and 1095 with an edge length of 160mm and a heel height of 50mm ground thin.
